Around 3,000 fans, including Horsham’s dedicated ‘Lardy Army’, packed in to the Camping World Community Stadium
Tonight (14th Nov) Horsham FC hosted League One outfit Barnsley at their home ground, The Camping World Community Stadium. This was following a 3-3 draw at Oakwell Stadium earlier this month, with Tom Richards netting in the 81st minute to force the replay.
Barnsley however, were clearly taking no chances this time as managed to score two goals within the first ten mins and a third after less than thirty minutes.
This did not stop Horsham’s determination, as their performance improved markedly after the break as top scorer Daniel Ajakaiye went close three times, but just could not find the net.
The fans, AKA the Lardy Army, showed their endless support for the club from start to finish.
This was the first time the Hornets have ever been shown live on terrestrial TV and both clubs will receive £25,000 broadcasting fee.
It may not have been the result Horsham were hoping for, but there is certainly no shame and we couldn’t be prouder of what the club have achieved for our town. The team showed heart and played with pride, and that is all we ever want.
Well done to both teams and to all the fans (new and long term supporters) for showing up and making this a great experience for everyone.
And a final thank you to all the staff, security and vendors for your help and services.
💚❤️
